This resource is dedicated to the memory of Mr and Mrs H, whom we had the profound honour of caring for over a 12-year period until the end of their lives.
Our journey with this remarkable couple began in autumn 2013, providing initially just a few hours of support each week. As their needs evolved, so did our care - eventually supporting them with round-the-clock compassionate attention through their dementia journey.
The trust they and their family placed in us was a privilege that profoundly shaped our approach to dementia care. Their dignity, resilience, and individual stories have informed every aspect of Dementia Compass.
The lessons we learned through caring for Mr and Mrs H live on in these resources, helping others provide the same level of dignified, person-centred care they received.
